Michael von During is a Manager for the Initiative for Smallholder Finance (ISF) at the Global Development Incubator, based in New York.
Previously, Michael worked in the impact investing sector, supporting pipeline development and risk management with a focus on microfinance at Water.org, Symbiotics, and Alphamundi. Michael has also worked at Cargill, where he led credit risk projects related to commodities trading activities.
Michael holds a degree in economics and business management from the University of Geneva (HEC) in Switzerland, and an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago. He has lived and worked in Australia, South Africa, Central America, Mexico, Europe and the US.
